DV Arial - Latvian Universal Font (for Windows only)

Several different coding systems are in use for Latvian accented letters in Windows. That can cause problems for information interchange. An e-mail attachment with Latvian text from someone using a different coding system might be almost impossible to read it. The accented Latvian letters might appear intelligible or as empty squares.

DV Arial font incorporates Unicode, Windows cp 1257/Rim and Balt coding. The older Balt coding has no letter Ļ as it uses the same coding as the letter Ģ in the newer Unicode.

If you receive some unreadable Latvian text save it to file in My Documents folder. Open the file using your Word Processing program (eg Word), click on Edit and Select All. Change the font to DV Arial and the text should be readable.

For Latvian e-mail messages it is recomended to use plain text or RTF format. Do not use HTML format as that can cause other problems with Latvian letters.

Windows vidē tiek lietotas vairākas kodu sistēmas latviešu burtiem ar garum un mīkstināšanas zīmēm . Tas var radīt problēmas informāciju izmaiņai. Latviešu teksta pievienojumu e-pasta vēstulē citādā kodējumā var būt nelasāms. Latviešu burti parādīsies kā ķeburi vai tukši kvadrāti

DV Arial fonts ir universāls latviešu fonts kurā ietilpst Unicode, Windows cp 1257/ Rim un Balt kodējumi.
Vecajā Balt kodējumā trūkst burts Ļ jo tanī vietā ir jaunā Unicode kodējumā ir burts Ģ.

Ja ir grūtibas lasīt latviešu tekstu tad ierakstiet faili datorā. Atsauciet faili ar teksta redaktora programmu (p.p. Word). Izvēlējiet visu tekstu klikšķējot uz 'Edit' un 'Select All' un pārmainiet fontu uz DV Arial. Teksts pēc tam būs lasāms.

Ir ieteikams latviešu valodas e-pastam lietot vienkāršu (plain) jeb RTF formatu. Nav ieteikts lietot HTML formatu jo ar to var radīt citas problēmas ar latviešu burtiem.
