"Outrageous."
The Age
"Gritty sexualilty." The Scotsman
"Rejoice in chick power." The Herald Sun"
They've scandalized
audiences at the Melbourne International Comedy and Fringe Festivals,
gobsmacked them at the Edinburgh Fringe and mesmerised the crowds
at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Now, for the first
time, Australia's comedy rock queens The Sheryls, are setting
their sights on Adelaide, bringing their hit show The Sheryls
On Ice to the 2002 Adelaide Fringe.
Resplendent with
their esky full of ice, the show promises to be an impossibly
glamorous evening of stand-up, video, sketch and foot-stomping
songs.
Featuring a new line-up,
stunning new cossies and some of the catchiest new tunes this
side of Rundle Mall including a tribute to men who run like
girls, and the anatomically helpful, Do the Pelvic Floor, The
Sheryls are undoubtedly role models for today's aspirational
Australian woman searching for her own inner rock chick.
Joining The Sheryls'
founding line-up of Melbourne comics, Irene Guzowski and Wendy
Little, is Jo Gill, a regular fixture on the Melbourne comedy
circuit, along with special guest MC, Janet A McLeod, whose
most recent Melbourne Fringe show, The Janet 2000 Walking Tour
became a cult classic.
