Introduction:
The Asian Business Association of
Whitehorse, ABAW, is a non-profit organisation, incorporated on 10 May 2002, by
a group who all have close association with the Whitehorse area. Our mission is
to enhance the quality of commercial activities in the City of Whitehorse and
organise large events for the general public in Victoria.
Place: Market and Main Streets, (The Mall) and Carrington Road carpark, Box Hill.
Time: from 7pm, 31st
Jan ’03 (Friday) to 4am, 1st Feb ‘03 (Saturday)
Purpose
of this event: Chinese New Year celebration:

A multi-cultural event for everyone
·
It will allow people from different
backgrounds to understand more about the Chinese History and the significance of
Chinese New Year
·
Traditional Chinese New Year
celebratory fruits and flowers will be available from stalls
·
A fun and exciting event for
everyone, of all ages.
·
Proportion of profits will be
donated to charitable bodies within the City of Whitehorse.
Special Activities for the public to attend and enjoy:
·
Over 80 stalls selling special
Chinese New Year products, including food and flowers & plants
·
A central stage area
presenting many different shows (fashion, Magic, music and drama) and
competitions
·
All shows presented will be in
both English and Chinese
·
3 different Gods (Chinese)
will be invited to the event (3 small temple-like stalls) which will attract
thousands of people
Expected crowd:
·
At least 50,000 people
Advertisements will be placed
in the following publications and media:

Australian newspapers

Local weekly newspapers

TV and Radio
·
Continuous advertising for
almost 2 months
·
Billboards within the City of
Whitehorse
There will be an opportunity
for the major advertisers to be identified in the advertisements, via their
company logo.
