Behaviour of Junior Players on the Hockey Field

Dear Junior Player and Parents,

The committee of the junior section at Moorabbin Districts Hockey Club welcomes all players and parents for the 2001 season.  For families who are continuing their association with the club, welcome back.  Families who are becoming involved for the first time, we welcome you and hope your involvement will be enjoyable and productive.

MDHC prides itself on its member’s well behaved etiquette and sportsmanship shown on and off the field.  As in previous seasons, behaviour, actions or other facets not in line with the true spirit of the game and detrimental to the club’s name will not be tolerated if the committee feels such actions are beyond the standards set by the club in our club and at all times wish to be regarded as a Hockey Club with well-behaved members, both on and off the field.

Moorabbin does not condone or accept the use of "Bad language" and "Rough play" on the hockey field.  Moreover it supports the principle of Sportsmanship and Fair Play.  It is expected that players, coaches, parents and supporters recognise and encourage the contribution of its players and umpires in a correct manner.  Abusive language, especially when directed towards an Umpire cannot and will not be tolerated.

We trust all players will take pride in wearing the club colours and their approach and manner will reflect this pride.  If an itemised incident does arise, the player, coach and team manager of the respective team will be asked to explain his / her actions to a disciplinary committee for discussion.

Good  luck for the forthcoming season and above all, enjoy and have fun playing hockey.
