Term Dates for 2010

Venues

The U3A Office and most classes are held at the Pines Learning and Activity Centre, 2/520 Blackburn Road, Doncaster East.  For details of other locations, see noticeboard.

Eligibility

There are no pre-requisites for entry into most classes.  However for some, prior experience may be required, e.g. Computer and Language courses.  See the Courses page for details

In classes where there is a waiting list, entry is limited to members over the age of 45.

Fees

The annual cost of membership is $40 per calendar year (no concessions).  Members of other U3As may join for $20 per calendar year.

This fee enables you to attend most classes with no additional payment. However, course/facility fees apply to some classes where costs are incurred in hiring or purchasing of equipment and/or rental of facilities. Costs may also apply in some classes for materials or class notes.

Volunteer System

The U3A worldwide has the policy of engaging its members as volunteers to fulfil all of the administrative and teaching tasks needed to keep the organisation operating effectively.

This practice keeps the annual subscription to a minimum and utilises the rich variety of skills and resources offered by its members.

At the Manningham U3A, we acknowledge our members' contribution by enabling all volunteers to enrol into classes for the following year ahead of others.  We are happy to say that most of our members take advantage of this incentive.

Details of tasks for volunteers are provided on the Participation Form.  Opportunities also exist for members to share their special interests and skills.
