In addition, a couple of the colour shorts on disc 2 had some minor hiccups. The Night Before Christmas, although featuring the re-instatement of some significant sequences that had been censored out in the past, still had one short scene missing. The Goddess Of Spring was presented in an old transfer that was not up to the quality of the other films on the disc.
Thankfully, Disney announced a plan to re-press the disc with the corrected material. Initially planned to be available around March 2007, the discs didn't actually become available until July 2007. Still, there's nothing wrong with a delay as long as it means they've taken the time to get everything sorted out.
These few pages present an overview of the differences between the old and new discs. Anyone who has not yet done so can contact the extraordinarily lovely people at Walt Disney Home Entertainment on 1-800-723-4763 and register to receive the replacement discs. Fortunately, they'll replace the discs even if you live outside of the USA. Because they're that lovely.
How can I tell the differences between the discs?
One's labelled Disc No.1, and the other is Disc No.2. It's not rocket science...
No, silly. How can I spot a re-pressed disc from an original issue?
Oh, that! Right...
If you have a look at the inside ring of the disc, just near the hole, you should see some sequences of numbers. The original discs are labeled as follows:
Disc 1: MSL-0N-NM 1.2 (311605 and 311606)
Disc 2: MSL-0N-NM 2.2 (311607 and 311608)
The replacements are labelled:
Disc 1: MSL-0N-NM 1.4 (326522 and 326523)
Disc 2: MSL-0N-NM 2.4 (326528 and 326529)
