Worked example of Mute Resistor selection for LM4702

[ Back to LM4702 Desideratum ]   [ Glenn's Audio and Hi-Fi Page ]

This is a worked example of using the graph on the LM4702 main page to select a mute resistor. The graph plots the formula Imute = ( Vcc - 2.9 ) / Rmute for preferred values of Rmute.

The example begins with a design choice of 40 Volts for the positive power supply (Vcc).

Start with the red arrow at 40 Volts on the horizontal axis. Ascend vertically to meet a sloping line in the green 'play' zone. Continue up the sloping line to the label, 27K. Therefore the required mute resistor is 27 kilo Ohms. What could be simpler?
