Getting the picture

Want the best-looking graphics for your Web pages? Easy: drop into your local software shop and pick up copies of Adobe Photoshop 4.0 and Equilibrium Debabeliser.

Oh ... and be sure to take about $2000 with you.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, where that $2000 is already earmarked for a new fridge, car insurance and weekly groceries, we can all be grateful for some cheaper packages.

Here's the first.

Now that you've got a picture program ...

Pictures themselves you can find aplenty on the Web; Yahoo is an excellent starting point. But if you want to put your own photos on a Web site, you can't go past Kodak's Snapshot scanner. It will only accept snapshot-sized pictures, not A4 pages - but that's all many people will ever want to use. And at $A299, it's a bargain.
