The Caving Club of Victoria Aims To:

  • protect surface and subsurface cave environments in accordance with the Australian Speleological Association Code of Ethics and Minimal Impact Caving Code and current land management practices.
  • provide opportunities for members, their families and potential members to experience caving in a variety of environments for the purposes of study and recreation
  • undertake cave exploration in order to increase knowledge of caves and karst and document this research in accordance with Australian Speleological Federation documentation practice.
  • encourage safe caving practices and provide opportunities for all members to continuously develop their caving skills.
  • communicate with members of the wider caving community for the purpose of
    • exchanging ideas and information
    • increasing the understanding of cave and karst environments
    • promoting cave and karst conservation
    • promoting safe caving practices.
  • establish and maintain good relationships with all clubs, agencies and individuals concerned with, or interested in, caving and cave and karst management.
